Designed and manufactured a motor-driven lifting machine capable of raising a 10 lb load under strict structural, material, and budget constraints. Developed an acrylic boom structure, gear-driven transmission, and pulley lifting system through CAD design, engineering calculations, fabrication, and iterative testing, while exploring concepts including beam deflection, material behavior, and precision manufacturing.

Collaboratively designed and built a vehicle capable of launching a Blue Jay glider over an obstacle and across the Johns Hopkins Great Hall using a custom energy-storage launch mechanism. Through iterative prototyping, CAD design, testing, and refinement, the project explored concepts including energy transfer, structural durability, aerodynamics, and precision manufacturing, while reinforcing the importance of simplicity, reliability, and iterative engineering design.

Designed and manufactured a fully functional alarm clock aimed at improving sleep habits and wake-up consistency among young people through thoughtful, user-centered product design. Developed the product from initial concept through prototyping and final manufacture, with a focus on functionality, usability, mechanism design, and iterative testing, while exploring how engineering and design can positively influence everyday routines and behavior.

Designed and constructed a 2-bit binary adder using discrete logic gate ICs, then extended the system into the analogue domain using an R-2R digital-to-analogue converter and LM741 op-amp output stage. The project involved circuit simulation, breadboard prototyping, oscilloscope and multimeter testing, and analysis of digital logic, signal conversion, and non-ideal component behavior, while demonstrating the fundamental principles underlying modern computing hardware.

Created an 80s-style arcade game inspired by the “Bone Organ” scene from The Goonies, where players must replicate a sequence of musical notes under time pressure to successfully escape the cave. The project combined mechanical design, electronics, and embedded programming through the development of a joystick-controlled ping pong ball launcher, Arduino-based control systems, beam-break sensors, and integrated audio feedback. Through iterative prototyping, CAD design, wiring, coding, and testing, the project explored concepts including system integration, user interaction, debugging, and collaborative engineering design.
